Scripture for Today

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Timothy 2:5

Good morning, my friend.

Today I’m learning how to express a small but comforting thought in French, Chinese, and Spanish:

God gives me peace.

The verse in 1 Timothy reminds me where my confidence begins. There is one God, and Christ Jesus is our mediator.

I do not need to carry every worry as though everything depends on me. I can bring what is unsettled in my heart to God—and receive His peace for the next step.

🟦 FRENCH

Today’s Phrase

Dieu me donne la paix.

Dyuh muh don lah peh.

Meaning: God gives me peace.

Grammar

donner · doh-NAY · to give

The pattern donner quelque chose à quelqu’un means to give something to someone.

In today’s sentence:

Dieu · Dyuh · God
me · muh · to me / me
donne · don · gives
la paix · lah peh · peace

So Dieu me donne la paix naturally means God gives me peace.

Vocabulary

Dieu · Dyuh · God
me · muh · me / to me
donne · don · gives
la · lah · the
paix · peh · peace

Practice Sentence

Je garde la paix dans mon cœur.

Zhuh gard lah peh dahn mon kuhr.

Meaning: I keep peace in my heart.

A Word to Keep: paix · peh · peace

Today’s Thought: I cannot make every situation peaceful, but I can receive God’s peace within it.

Smile Fact: The French word paix ends with an x, but that final letter is silent. A word that looks a little complicated becomes beautifully simple when spoken: peh.

🟥 CHINESE

Today’s Phrase

神赐给我平安。

Pinyin: Shén cìgěi wǒ píng’ān.

Shun tsuh-gay woh ping-an.

Meaning: God gives me peace.

Grammar

A useful pattern today is:

A + 赐给 + B + C

A gives B something.

· Shén · Shun · God
赐给 · cìgěi · tsuh-gay · gives / bestows
· wǒ · woh · me
平安 · píng’ān · ping-an · peace

赐给 (cìgěi) has the sense of giving or bestowing and is especially fitting when speaking about something graciously given.

Vocabulary

· Shén · Shun · God
赐给 · cìgěi · tsuh-gay · give / bestow
· wǒ · woh · I / me
平安 · píng’ān · ping-an · peace
· xīn · sheen · heart

Practice Sentence

我的心有平安。

Pinyin: Wǒ de xīn yǒu píng’ān.

Woh duh sheen yoh ping-an.

Meaning: My heart has peace.

A Word to Keep: 平安 · píng’ān · ping-an · peace / well-being

Today’s Thought: Peace does not always mean that everything around me has become quiet. Sometimes it means my heart has found a place to rest.

Smile Fact: 平安 (píng’ān) can carry the sense of peace, safety, and well-being. It is a lovely word to learn because it can also express a warm wish that someone may be safe and well.

🟨 SPANISH

Today’s Phrase

Dios me da paz.

DEE-ohs meh dah pahs.

Meaning: God gives me peace.

Grammar

dar · dahr · to give

Today we use:

Dios · DEE-ohs · God
me · meh · to me / me
da · dah · gives
paz · pahs · peace

da is the third-person singular form of dar, so:

Dios me da paz.
God gives me peace.

Vocabulary

Dios · DEE-ohs · God
me · meh · me / to me
da · dah · gives
paz · pahs · peace
corazón · koh-rah-SON · heart

Practice Sentence

Guardo la paz en mi corazón.

GWAHR-doh lah pahs en mee koh-rah-SON.

Meaning: I keep peace in my heart.

A Word to Keep: paz · pahs · peace

Today’s Thought: I can move through today without rushing my heart. God’s peace can come with me.

Smile Fact: paz is only three letters long. A tiny Spanish word carries one of the biggest things the human heart longs for: peace.

🌿 Life Reflection

Today I learned one thought in three languages:

French: Dieu me donne la paix.
Dyuh muh don lah peh.

Chinese: 神赐给我平安。
Shén cìgěi wǒ píng’ān.
Shun tsuh-gay woh ping-an.

Spanish: Dios me da paz.
DEE-ohs meh dah pahs.

God gives me peace.

There are days when I think peace will arrive after everything is resolved.

After I know the answer.

After the decision is made.

After the difficult situation changes.

But faith gives me another possibility: perhaps I can receive peace before everything is settled.

Today’s Scripture points me back to Christ. I have a mediator. I can come to God.

So when worry becomes loud today, I want to practice something small.

Bring it to God.

Receive His peace.

Then take the next faithful step.

I may not have tomorrow’s answers.

But I can have today’s peace.

🙏 Small Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that I can come to You through Christ.

When my thoughts become busy and my heart begins to hurry, remind me that I do not have to carry everything alone.

Give me Your peace for what I understand and for what I do not yet understand.

Teach me to bring my worries to You, to listen before reacting, and to take today one faithful step at a time.

As I learn new languages, help me become a patient learner and a thoughtful listener.

May the words I practiced today become more than vocabulary.

God gives me peace.

Help me live that truth today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
