GRACE FOR THE JOURNEY

“Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father

and Christ Jesus our Lord.”

1 Timothy 1:2

Good morning, my friend.

Some mornings begin with energy.

Others begin more quietly.

But before today asks anything of us, Scripture gives us

three beautiful words to receive:

Grace.

Mercy.

Peace.

Yesterday we reflected on God’s grace being with us.

Today, I want to carry that thought one small step further:

I can walk in His peace.

Three languages will say it differently,

but the invitation is the same.

Walk with God, one faithful step at a time.

🟦 🇫🇷 FRENCH

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Je marche dans la paix de Dieu.

Read the Pronunciation

Zhuh marsh dahn lah peh duh Dyuh

Meaning

I walk in the peace of God.

GRAMMAR

“marcher” means “to walk.”

Je marche = I walk

dans = in

la paix = the peace

de Dieu = of God

VOCABULARY

je • zhuh • I

marche • marsh • walk

dans • dahn • in

paix • peh • peace

Dieu • dyuh • God

PRACTICE SENTENCE

Dieu me donne la paix.

Read the Pronunciation

Dyuh muh don lah peh

Meaning

God gives me peace.

A WORD TO KEEP

paix • peh • peace

TODAY’S THOUGHT

I do not have to understand every step

before I walk peacefully with God.

His peace can meet me exactly where I am

and travel with me into whatever comes next.

SMILE FACT

The final “x” in the French word paix is silent.

The word may look a little complicated on paper,

but when spoken, this beautiful word for “peace”

is wonderfully simple:

peh.

GRAMMAR

The pattern 在……中 can express

being “in” or “within” something.

我 = I

在……中 = in / within

神的 = God’s

平安 = peace

行走 = walk

VOCABULARY

我 • wǒ • woh • I

在 • zài • dzai • in / at

A WORD TO KEEP

平安 • píng’ān • ping-an • peace

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Peace does not always mean

that everything around me is quiet.

Sometimes peace simply means

that my heart knows where to rest.

SMILE FACT

The Chinese word 平安 (píng’ān)

carries the ideas of both “peace” and “safety.”

It can be used as a warm wish for someone’s well-being.

What a lovely thought:

to wish someone not only a peaceful heart,

but also a safe journey through life.

I walk in the peace of God.

GRAMMAR

“caminar” means “to walk.”

Camino = I walk

en = in

de Dios = of God

Spanish often leaves out the pronoun “yo”

because the verb ending already tells us

who is doing the action.

VOCABULARY

camino • kah-MEE-no • I walk

en • en • in

la • lah • the

paz • pahs • peace

Dios • DEE-ohs • God

PRACTICE SENTENCE

Dios me da paz.

TODAY’S THOUGHT

I can move forward without rushing.

God’s peace does not have to wait

until everything in my life is settled.

It can travel with me today.

SMILE FACT

The Spanish word paz is only three letters long.

Such a tiny word carries one of humanity’s

greatest hopes:

peace.

Sometimes the smallest words

hold the biggest meanings.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

LIFE REFLECTION

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Today I learned three ways to speak about

walking in God’s peace.

French gave me paix.

Chinese gave me 平安.

Spanish gave me paz.

Different sounds.

Different words.

The same quiet truth.

Paul’s greeting to Timothy did not promise

that everything ahead would be easy.

Timothy still had responsibilities,

difficult conversations,

and important work waiting for him.

Yet before those instructions came:

Grace.

Mercy.

Peace.

I want to remember that order.

Before the work — grace.

Before the difficult conversation — mercy.

Before worrying about what comes next — peace.

Perhaps faithful living does not always require

seeing the whole road.

Sometimes it simply means receiving

what God has already given me

and taking the next step with Him.

Different languages.

One Savior.

One peace.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

SMALL PRAYER

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and peace.

Teach me not to rush ahead of You today.

Give me wisdom for the decisions I need to make

and peace for the things I cannot control.

As I learn new words,

help me also learn patience,

humility,

and kindness.

May learning another language help me

listen more carefully,

understand people more deeply,

and appreciate the beautiful variety

of the world You created.

May I walk through this ordinary day

aware that You are with me.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

UNTIL TOMORROW

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Tomorrow we will continue our journey

through 1 Timothy.

Another passage.

Another language.

Another smile.

And another opportunity to learn deeply

and live faithfully—

one morning at a time.
